There is hope
Just one hope
Rooted deep inside my heart
That is,

Let’s meet together ‘Tomorrow’!

Yet,
Who can think of tomorrow?
It may be so far,
It may not be so near,
It may be so brief, or
It may never come.

But,
I keep the hope and treasure the wish
Just one wish
Could be a dream
That is,

Let’s meet together ‘Tomorrow’!

‘Tomorrow’!
Tell me!
When are you coming?

Monday, 8 April 2013

O My Mother Dearest,
Among the thousands
Only you were chosen
To be the Mother of Christ
And of mine;
Tell me my Mother Dearest!
Tell me why?
What was the secret
That pleased the father so Sacred?
Is it your Simplicity?
Or your Humility?
Or your apparent Purity in heart?
Tell me my Mother Dearest!
Tell me why?
So that, I too may become
A handmade of God.

I have Faith in the 'Whatever'

Dear …..‘Whatever!’
Allow me to call you so,
’Cos it wouldn’t be nice if I’m giving you someone else’s privilege
By calling you ‘God’ when I do not know what that means;
I wonder, whether I need to begin like this at all,
’Cos I know not whether ‘God’ exists at all or not;
If I am the author of this work,
If it is I who move the pen,
And if these are my own thoughts that keep overflowing,
Then, why I need your permission at all?
If in case you exist, I do it for courtesy sake,
For I choose to dedicate this work to you;
                                                        But, if in case you don’t,
Then, isn’t it absurd
 To dedicate something to ‘whatever’ I do not know?

Have you ever written a book?
People say, they read a lot about you;
Have you ever spoken to people?
They say, they heard you;
Have you ever heard people crying?
They say, you found it to be too loud;
Have you ever seen people dying?
They say, you had tears in your eyes;
Have you ever smelled the lilies in the field?
People say, you smiled just like them;
Have you ever tasted the water in the sea?
People say, your face shrank;
Have you ever touched the heated sand in a dessert?
People say, your feet burnt;
Have you ever felt the pain of a mother giving birth to a child?
People say, you felt pity;
Have you ever thought of creeping snails?
People say, you just couldn’t stop.

But, I asked them,
“Who are You?”
People said, they never knew You enough;
“What are You?”
They said, You are beyond their grasp;
“What is Your name?”
They said, You have many;
“Where do You stay?”
They said, they still search for You;
“Do You really exist at all?
People said, they never foundYou;
Oh Gosh! Whatever!
Now I really begin to wonder, are you really ‘He’,
 Why not ‘She’ or ‘It’ or ‘a fourth thing’?
Whatever you are,
Don’t you now see
I have enough reasons to call you ‘Whatever’!

 Whatever I see around is being created,
And whatever is effected is no foreign to its cause;
A cow effects milk is no foreign to the cow,
And a mother effects a baby is no foreign to the mother;
Then, isn’t it reasonable to say,
Whatever is created in the world should be no foreign to ‘whatever’ created it?
But,
I have heard the cry of a newborn baby,
And seen a mama-cow feeding her boy;
I have felt the pain of a mother being separated from her child,
And wept while reading about her daughter being barbarously raped;
I have smelled the rot of a dead cow,
And tasted her calf slaughtered and drilled in the barbeque parlor;
Now,
If whatever is created is no foreign to ‘whatever’ created them,
 And whatever created is so chaotic and bizarre,
 How can ‘whatever’, then, be different from whatever is created?
If whatever created is both desirous and repugnant,
 How can, then, there be ‘whatever’ at all,
’Cos an orange can’t be both orange and not-orange;
Does this mean that there exists no first ‘whatever’ at all?

I was eating an orange the other day,
And I almost swallowed a maggot inside it;
It is then I realized,
The orange itself would not have created the maggot,
’Cos maggot starred at me as if I had asked for a piece from his stolen orange;
If maggot is completely different from orange,
Then, why not the chaotic and bizarre world also be different from ‘whatever’ created it?
If the fly that created the maggot is so real,
Why not, then, ‘whatever’ created orange also be so real?
But,
I saw only the maggot and not its cause -the fly,
And the orange and not its cause – the ‘whatever’;
Then, how will I dedicate this work to ‘whatever’ I don’t see?

I have seen neither my mom’s dad nor the dads before him;
But, I know for sure,
Without them, I wouldn’t have seen my mom either;
(and of course, ‘me’ out of question)
 If I have faith in both the fly and my mom’s dad,
Am I not convincing enough when I say,
 “I have faith in the ‘whatever’
That caused both the fly and my mom’s dad?”
It is to that ‘whatever’ I dedicate this work,
 And give the name “GOD”

You said,
If you ever feel in life that
All the doors are closed on you,
Remember these words:
“A closed door is not always locked”
So,
Give it a push at least.

But I say,
If you ever feel in life that
All the doors are closed on you,
Remember these words:
“Knock! And the door will be opened for you,
B’cos, perhaps the door is locked from inside”
So,
Give a try at least.

You said,
When you face choices in life
Just toss a coin up
Not because it settles all your problems
But,
While the coin is in the air
You will know what your heart is hoping for

But I say,
When you face choices in life
Just toss a coin up
Not because it settles all your problems
But,
When and if the coin falls on the ground
You’ll know that you’re not dreaming
But, making a choice, down-to-earth and real.

The evening sun had gone its way,

And I stood still until its last ray;

Swaddled in veil, I glittered gay,

But no life within, disgust filled my bay.

Soon people gathered, shouldering a coffin,

Brightly varnished, yet a dumb corpse within;

We neither greeted nor shared anything,

They circled round me, and pushed the coffin in.

Howled the wind and rattled my veil,

They set me on fire with the northern gale;

Flames grew up, gulped all without fail,

People around me, gazed and wailed.

White-washed I, soon became grey,

Ashes then remained, but wind took them away;

No one stood still, each turned to his way,

Such is your fate if you’re a tomb, I say.

Life is a Quest
That's why we are in constant search;
It'll never end
Until we die after our lifetime...

Life is a guest
That's why we are in constant longing;
It'll never end
Until we die to our selfishness...

A Defense of Indeterministic View of Human Freedom

     Arguing for the Indeterministic Stand, i.e., "human beings are always free!" , I am free to disagree with what you say, but I will always defend your freedom to assert either your Deterministic Stand, i.e., “human beings aren’t free”or Partially Deterministic Stand, i.e., “human beings are neither free nor not-free”

     To begin with, who can talk about freedom? It is only a conscious being, and it is only in the ability of becoming conscious that one becomes a free being. Can a toddler talks about freedom when it is not conscious about feeding itself which is fundamental to its survival? Then, it is only when one is a conscious being, can he or she claim for his freedom.

     There may be multiplicity of choices in life, but the act of choosing has only two options. Either one chooses, or refrains from choosing. If you are indifferent about choosing, then the choices will slip away without having being claimed or accounted for by a conscious being. For example, one can either choose to kill or not to kill, marry or not to marry, become pregnant or not to become so. There is no mid way here. Can you kill an entity and in the mean time not to kill the same? Can you marry a person and not to marry at the same time? How can you become pregnant and not pregnant simultaneously?

     Thus, whatever may be the choice, the choosing is done by a conscious being in freedom and, therefore, he or she is a free being. Taking the same example of killing mentioned above,  the Determinists would say, "I am not free either to kill or not to kill" (which means that the freedom is a determined property of a person); the Partially Indeterminists would say"I am either free to kill or not free to kill"; and the Indeterminists would say, "I am free either to kill or not to kill". For example, I have the freedom to say, “I don’t have freedom” or “I am neither free nor not-free”. Had you not being free, how will you have any right to claim and stand for your own postulations?

     No one has right to take away one’s freedom! This is the assertion and belief of the free beings. If we are not free, then the above preposition would imply Anyone has the right to take away one’s freedom. If this is true, may I urge the bench of determinant non-freedom fighters to shut your mouths and sit idle, because you believe an external force (for example “I”) can take away your freedom to defend your stand, because it has a right to do it?

     Moreover, based on the above implied preposition, Anyone has the right to take away one’s freedom, of the Non-Free party and their alleged claim therefore that 'human beings are conditioned creatures', I would urge the oposition bench to focus their attention on one’s own act of Eating. Again, either you eat (take food) or don’t take it. There is no third alternative. There is no 'neither…nor' here as the bench of Indifference Party would argue, but only the 'either…or' stand or the freedom stand. That is, either you are free to eat or to perish in hunger. Does anyone force you to do it (except when you were/are not able to do it by urself)? Moreover, if you have ever fasted, then wasn’t it your own freedom that led you to forgo food - the basic need of your survival? Then, in what way are you conditioned? If you have the freedom to deal with your own life and death, then what type of conditioning do you talk about?

     If you say that you are baptized in to a religion and therefore your religion is more of ascribed than acquired , don’t you have a freedom to denounce it and find your own source of consolation? Who stopped you from doing it? If your parents, clan, kith and kin and, simply put, your culture or tradition is the hindrance, then don’t you realize that you have made a choice to stay where you are and be happy rather than face discomforts that would haunt you if you were to decide otherwise? So, you were free to choose your happiness right?

     Moreover, if you are trying to say that you don’t have enough freedom in your marriage, job, or in whatever major commitment you have made in life, I would love to know whether you were forced to do so or you made a choice in freedom to commit yourself into that. If you were free then, how come you are not free now?

     You may say that sex is biologically determined and gender is socially determined. Didn’t you know that there is freedom today even to choose your sex and practice your own comfortable Anima or Animus? Can your sex be 'neither penis nor not-vagina' as the Indifference party would say; or 'not penis' (that would anyway imply it to be yes-vagina) or vice-versa as the Deterministic Party would say? moreover, isn’t it directly correlating to your own non-viable stances, 'we arn't free' or 'we are neither free nor not-free', when you have already utilized the freedom to form your stance and defend it? In other words, can you defend your stand without using the word freedom? If the word freedom exists, then does it not mean that freedom exists? Are you a concious being free enough to grasp it?

T R I B A L

     I was....

imeless, until the time machine was invented,

easonable, until the reason was invented,

I  ndependent, until the dependency was invented,

are-sufficient, until the acquisition was invented,

ccommodating, until the individuality was invented,

     But today I am....

ost, until my lost pieces are recollected
